WEEK 4 | Motion Graphics

Our task this rotation was to create design and digitally composite a 10-15 second long motion graphics composition using Adobe After Effects. Theme of the week was “Connection”.

I had a couple ideas in mind, but most wanted to focus on connection of people. I wanted to create short story through images, and this led me to draw romantic narrative.

These are sketches of four different ideas I had from the start. I adored all of them, but chose the one with umbrella since it was easy to understand for viewers and visually explain for me.

I got mostly inspired by “string of fate” the idea that soulmates are connected with red string, that one day will lead one person to another. Also, the focus was on the connection through gentle actions, like help and gentle touch.

Furthermore, I figured I wanted all images to be connected with one line that travels from beginning to the end of video.

I chose pastel colour pallet to mach the whole atmosphere of the video and romantic, light style.

For the motion graphics video I wanted to add music that will support story telling. I added composition “Rose” by Lukrembo and made video based on it.
