Elephant & Castle Artist Book
This was one day project in groups. In group of people of 5 we created a story about Elephant & Castle name, why it is named like it is right now without knowing a true story, coming up with our own.
We came up with the story about King and Queen that wanted a new castle because their previous was destroyed. They met elephant with little castle on his back that offered them his castle. They agreed and there has been other a decade. Castle on elephants back grew with him and nowadays all people on Elephant and castle leave under a big elephant sleeping under the ground.
We decided for artist book the reflect different styles of every member of the group, not stopping anyone from showing their creativity. In my part I created scenes of London and Elephant & Castle showing modern world, nowadays society.
My Sketches:
My inspiration came from walking around elephant and castle streets and spotting a book shop. This shop had birthday cards with London views and sketches. I got interested in creating my part in the same style of minimalistic black & white sketches.
